The 75th Anniversary Celebration of the Deer Isle-Stonington Bridge will happen on Saturday, June 21st!

All sorts of festivities like music, food and a 5K run will originate at Bridge End Park between 10am and 2pm, including a "re-dedication of the bridge."   It will also be the official opening of Bridge End Park on Little Deer Isle. The Deer Isle-Stonington High School band will play and the will be a lobster and clam bake sponsored by the Deer Isle-Stonington Chamber of Commerce.

The Celebration will include a one hour closure of the bridge that Saturday so that participates can "Walk The Bridge" and raise money to support the new  Bridge End Park!  The Sheriff's office will close the bridge so that walkers can walk the length of it safely.  For more information on the Bridge Walk contact Opera House Arts at 207-367-2788 or @operahousearts.org.

Construction on the Deer Isle-Stonington suspension Bridge was completed in 1939.

Parking for the Walk and the 5K run will be on the Sedgewick side of the bridge. Parking for events at Bridge End Park will be on the Eggemoggin Rd. School buses will act as a shuttle taking people to and from parking on either side of the bridge.
