Two people were arrested Monday morning after police say they drove a front loader in the wrong direction on the Maine Turnpike, damaging a stretch of road in Auburn.

CBS 13 reports the front loader was driven in the northbound lanes between the New Gloucester toll and exit 75 in Auburn.

Police say it damaged the roadway, leading to traffic delays Monday morning.

The right lane at mile marker 71 will be closed until further notice.

Police did not say where the front loader came from. The names of the suspects have not been released.
