Fifty-eight new police officers will be hitting the beat here in Maine following today's graduation ceremony at the Academy!

Five of the fifty-eight will work for the Bangor Police Department!  They include:  Thomas J. Bosch-Willett, Monic E. Christian, Curtis R. Grenier, Robert W. Hallett and Edwin M. Lewis.

Ed Tolan, the police chief from Falmouth, was the guest speaker and he explained how the new graduates will be under the watchful eye of the public. “You will be challenged, videotaped, criticized , and second guessed, but you are ready to serve your community. This is the greatest profession and people will lean on you for guidance, leadership and empathy, ” Tolan said, according to a press release.

The graduate list included ten Maine State Police officers and Game Wardens, new officers for the University of Maine at Orono, Bar Harbor, Belfast, Rockland, Orono, Southwest Harbor, and the Piscataquis County Sheriff's Office!

Well done everyone, and thank you for choosing the law enforcement profession!
