This morning from a press release from the Bangor Police Department:

On June 6, 2013 at about 230AM, Officer Shawn Green and other units responded to the Dartmouth Street area to the report of a car alarm.

Officer Green reported that there was evidence that someone tried to enter the car and that no one was around. Officer Kyle Pelkey assisted and called in a suspicious vehicle license plate number near Saratoga Avenue that had gone by him. He lost sight of the car briefly as dispatch confirmed the car was stolen from Bangor.

Officer Green reported that he saw the stolen car inbound on Mt. Hope Avenue and attempted to stop it. The vehicle did not stop and a vehicle pursuit was initiated. Officer Green the vehicle sped through the red light at Howard and Mt. Hope without stopping, and again through the red light at Fern and Mt. Hope Avenue. Officer Green reported that the vehicle crashed into a house at the corner of Grove and Mt. Hope Avenue. Officer Green identified the suspect driver Vladamir Zintchenko, 38, of Bangor.

Officer Green reported that the vehicle was destroyed and substantial damage to the house on Grove Street included the foundation cracked 10-15 feet. Zintchenko was transported to Eastern Maine Medical Center and is in stable condition.

Zintchenko was charged with Eluding an Officer, Criminal Speed and Operating After Suspension.
