Acadia National Park has been named America's Favorite Place! Of course, we already knew how beautiful it is. But now, so does the world!

'Good Morning, America' was at the park today and revealed the good news. The morning show had conducted a poll of its viewers, and put Acadia up against locales such as Lake Tahoe, the Gulf Shores, Chicago's Lakefront, and Glacier National Park.

The write-up about the park on ABC's website talks about how Acadia offers visitors a front-row seat to nature. And once they're ready for something different, they can head into Bar Harbor. U.S. Representative Mike Michaud offered his congratulations.

“Acadia is a national treasure and a Maine icon, and it is wonderful to see the park’s stunning beauty recognized by Americans across the country,” said U.S. Rep. Mike Michaud. “Acadia offers Maine residents and visitors from around the world thousands of acres of beautiful scenery to enjoy. From the historic Bass Harbor Head Light to the summit of Cadillac Mountain, Acadia provides visitors with breathtaking views of both beautiful forest and the Maine coast.  Congratulations to all of those who work so hard to keep Acadia a beautiful place for Mainers and Americans to enjoy – this is a well-deserved honor that will elevate Acadia’s national profile.”
