A 25-year-old woman was killed in a car accident over the weekend. Police believe alcohol may have been a factor. This was one of four fatal crashes in Maine over the weekend.

Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland said the accident happened around one o'clock Saturday morning on the Allen Pond Road in Greene. Responding police found that Amanda 'Mandi' Rines of Greene was dead at at the scene, a short distance from her home, in a single-car crash.

Investigators say she had gone off the road and crashed head-on into a large tree. Troopers said Rines was not wearing a seatbelt and that alcohol is a primary factor in the crash.

Contributing to the investigation were Maine State Police Troopers and Deputies from the Androscoggin County Sheriff's Office. This was the fourth fatal crash in Maine over the weekend.

Early Saturday morning, 24-year-old Travis Lowberg of Raymond was killed when his car struck a tractor-trailer in Hollis. And in two separate motorcycle crashes, 43-year-old Adam Kimball of Lyman was killed Saturday afternoon in Dayton when he lost control of his motorcycle, and 22-year-old Dakota Thomas of Sanford died when his bike went off Route 109 in that town.
