America’s Favorite Food? We Say… Where’s The Beef!

The results are in and no one is surprised that pizza came in as the 3^rd most popular food in America but I did not see waffles beating out bacon or avocados winning over pasta, peanut butter, pancakes and chocolate.  Who are these people?!

Case in fact they are 1,300 men and women across the U.S. who took part in a research study funded by Davidson’s Safest Choice Pasteurized Eggs to be exact.

So what was the big winner? Well, meat seemed to carry the day steak and chicken were one and two in that order (No pun intended) and amazingly enough not a fruit hits the list until number eleven and my guess would have been a banana, which came in at number twenty, instead pineapple was the first fruit to make a showing.

To give Mr. Peanut his due,  according to the survey, peanut butter is the country's favorite spread placing 12th on the list.

Say Cheese!  And mozzarella is the top choice in sixth place on the list.

And I am sure the folks at Davidson’s were relieved to hear three out of four Americans consider eggs as a food favorite, naming them as one of the items they can't live without in the refrigerator, behind milk and cheese. Ready for the entire list??
