Anonymous Donor Pays-Off $2,000 in Layaway

Tis the season to pay it forward.

Customers of the Ellsworth Reny's have found that their layaway items have been paid for. The summer resident who remains anonymous, has paid off items like toys and children's clothes for a second year. The $2,000 was able to complete payments for about 20 customers. The average payments where $100.

Reny's waits until the customer comes to retrieve their purchase. To their surprise the system will show their items have been paid for. Some customers have asked to pay for their layaway order and to use the donor's cash to help another customer who might need the assistance.

Reny's is unsure of the donor's name, but say she got the idea after seeing a story on CNN.
