Appears We Are All Different And All The Same

I have never been able to figure out why we why we are so exceptionally critical of our own appearance.  I am... you are, most likely, and what purpose does it serve? For the last few months I have been putting my movie reviews on YouTube for my company and it has been so hard not to see them and want to recoil in horror.  Seriously I an 54 and at least in my mind, past my video prime...whatever that means.  That said, I found this video encouraging and enlightening to say the least.  I thought it was interesting that the participants all picked themselves apart with every supposed flaw while other people saw,focused on and pick out what they liked.

I think in a nut shell we all just want to be o.k. with who we are and what we look like. However, like someone who wants to jump to the punch to say their joke wasn't that funny we also want to beat everyone to saying how ugly we are. I walked away with 2 things here I guess. 1) mean people suck 2) most people aren't mean.  Just sayin'
