Police have made an arrest in connection with a murder two weeks ago. The suspect reportedly knew the victim and had helped him in the past.

Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland said in a press release that 44-year-old Roland Cummings was arrested Friday in connection with the murder of 92-year-old Aurele Fecteau two weeks ago. Fecteau's body was found by a family member on May 23rd.

Detectives say Cummings knew the victim and has actually helped him in the past, doing household chores for him. Fecteau was found stabbed in his bed and his house was burglarized.

Cummings is unemployed and has been living with his mother in Waterville. He's been charged with murder and has been taken to the Kennebec County Jail in Augusta. He's expected to make his first court appearance on Monday or Tuesday.
