Spectators lined the parade route from Brewer to Bangor to honor area service members in the cities' annual Veterans Day parade.

Veterans of World War II to the Global War on Terrorism marched into Downtown Bangor on Wednesday to cheers from the crowds that had gathered in and around West Market Square and along Exchange Street.

The day began with a breakfast at the Brewer Auditorium. Proceeds from the breakfast, sponsored by the Bangor Breakfast Rotary, were donated to charities including the Keep Kids Warm Program for area children.

You can help area families with an actively deployed service member by donating to Townsquare Cares, a non-profit organization that betters the lives of troops and their families.

Follow the Donate Now button below to make a cash donation. Any amount helps. Townsquare Cares will put everyone’s donations together and get money to families of actively deployed troops — right here in our area – to help those families have a brighter, easier holiday season.
