Bangor Named One Of The 10 Most Affordable Places In Maine

I think with heating season bearing down on us it is hard to imagine any place in Maine being too affordable. Still all things being relative, a site called  Homesnacks.net did managed to come up with a list of the 10 Most Affordable Places In Maine. Much to my surprise Bangor Made the list. The criteria they used when they examined 34 towns and cities in Maine  was that they would have a population of 5,000 or more and factored in the 'Cost of Living Index' which includes the cost of housing, food, gas, health insurance, utilities and transportation. According to their data, here are the '10 Most Affordable Places in Maine'.

1. Houlton
2. Caribou
3. Presque Isle
4. Skowhegan
5. Waterville
6. Augusta
7. Old Town
8. Winslow
9. Gardiner
10. Bangor

And there you go.  Glad it panned out they get too much snow in the county for my taste, in fact I feel better about life already. It amazed me too a little because there are so many great things to do here in Bangor. In case you are curious, Falmouth came in as the most expensive place to live in Maine.
