One of the most recognizable and well known patrol officers for the Bangor Police Department has officially retired.  Officer Paul Colley who began his career in Bangor back in 1988 worked his final shift this past Thursday.  Officer Colley patrolled the downtown Bangor area.

According to a press release from the Bangor PD, Officer Colley worked for the Hampden and Orono police departments before joining up with Bangor.  The press release goes on to say, "Officer Colley will be greatly missed for his ability to find or locate just about anyone, the compassion he showed for people suffering with mental illness, and his ability to laugh at himself".

Paul Colley won't be going far as he has been hired by the State of Maine and will work as a Court House Marshall at the Penobscot Judicial Center on Exchange Street in Bangor.

We thank Paul Colley for his dedication to the City of Bangor and for keeping us safe!
