Face it, you've always been curious.  Exactly what does a police officer do?  How do they pull it off?  Well now's your chance to learn pretty much the entire gig!  The Bangor Police Department has started a "Citizen's Police Academy", and you can sign up!

During eight 2 and a half hour classes, you'll lean routine police patrol, criminal investigations, K-9 units, the bomb squad, crime scene investigations and drunken-driving enforcement.

Classes will be held beginning at 6 each Wednesday night for 8 weeks beginning on March 13th, free of charge.  For more information contact Community Relations Officer Jason McAmbley at 947 7384 extension 5746, or jason.mcambley@bangormaine.gov.

Lately, police departments here in Maine have had a hard time drumming up new recruits.  So, if you have an interest in police work, here's your chance to find out exactly how interested you really are!  You won't get a taser, or officially get to arrest anyone, but there again classes should prove to be very interesting!
