The Bangor Special Enforcement Team is out on the roads this week looking for drivers on their phones.

Texting and driving is a main cause of distracted driving and the Bangor Police are trying to put to stop to it. This week marked and unmarked cars will be paying more attention to those with their eyes somewhere other than the road.

Texting and driving is against the law and police want to make drivers aware they do enforce this rule. While talking on a cell phone remains legal, any sort of distraction by a phone will be noticed by the officers.

If the potential dangers of distracted driving are not enough of a deterrent for you, how about a $310 fine? Bangor Police hope this will make drivers think twice before pulling out their phone. Nothing on your mobile device is more important than your eyes on the road.
