Three hundred and fifty water industry professionals attended the The Maine Rural Water Association's meeting in Bangor yesterday, and each one left the gathering  knowing that Bangor has the "Best Tasting Water" in the State!

The Association's 28th Annual Best Tasting Water Contest was held as part of the meeting.  Samples were served to judges in chilled, unlabeled glasses. There were two classes of competition, "best disinfected" and "best non disinfected."

H2O from the Bangor Water District took the top honors in the best non disinfected class, while water from Point Sebago won best disinfected. The two water districts then went head to head with Bangor finally winning the competition.

One judge said that it was a very hard decision to make with only "subtle" differences between the two, but in the end it was a unanimous decision.

Bangor's water will now be submitted to the National Rural Water Association's Rural Water Rally that will happen this February in Washington, D.C.
