The Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce is now accepting registrations for the Bar Harbor Fourth of July Parade. A long-time community favorite, the parade is a great tradition that brings together the town in a fun and often entertaining way.

The Fourth of July Parade always has a patriotic theme, but this year, the 2014 theme will be “The Way Life Should Be: Hometown Pride”, providing a great chance for locals and visitors alike to celebrate Bar Harbor and Mount Desert Island in their own fun and unique way. All participants will also be automatically entered into the annual parade float competition, where trophies will be awarded for ‘Best Depiction of Theme’, ‘Most Creative’ and ‘Best Youth Entry’.

Those that are interested in entering a float or a display in the parade may contact Jennifer Wright at jwright@barharborinfo.com for a registration form, or you may download one off of the Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce’s website at www.barharborinfo.com.

The parade is scheduled to be held at 10am sharp on the morning of Friday, July 4th, 2014 in the downtown Bar Harbor streets. In the event of rain, the parade and other Fourth of July celebrations will be rescheduled for Saturday, July 5th, 2014.
