Only a town that holds lobster races with actual lobsters on the Fourth of July would expect you to race a bed while in your pajamas up and down the street.  But people do, and it's a whole lotta FUN!

The Early Bird Pajama Sale and annual Bed Races happen this Saturday in Bar Harbor!

Get out of bed early and take advantage of some great sales going on in town, and make sure that you wear your pajamas for an even better deal. The sale goes on between 6 and 9 a.m.  Here's a LISTING of participating businesses.

Now the annual Bed and Pajama Parade begins at 10.  Make sure that you bring along your camera for this spectacle, as jolly and well garbed participants, some still in their pajamas, push their bed from the Village Green, down Main Street, left onto Cottage Street and then ending at Rodick, in preparation for the Races!

Then at about 10:15 a.m. it's off to the races, as teams of five push their beds up and down Cottage Street competing for prizes.  Wanna race?  Go HERE for information.

Remember!  This Saturday you can buy an annual Acadia National Park pass for HALF-PRICE right there in-town!  Find more details about that HERE!
