It may be warm out here, but in the water, well that's another story!

The National Weather Service has issued a Beach Hazard Statement for Hancock, Washington, Know and Waldo Counties because of cold water.  The Hazard will remain in effect throughout today, Friday the 28th, and into tonight.

The temperatures in the area this weekend are expected to be in the mid to upper 70s, but the water temperatures will only be in the mid 50s.

The National Weather Service issues these Beach Hazard Statements when a large amount of watercraft will be in use along Maine's shores, and also when people will be frequenting Maine's beaches.
