Toronto Blue Jays pitcher J.A. Happ was hit in the head by a line drive last night (May 7th), dropping face down on the mound as held his head with his glove and bare hand. The ball was hit off the bat of the Tampa Bay Rays' Desmond Jennings in the second inning of the teams' matchup in Florida. Happ was taken off on the field a stretcher, but he was conscious and talking and gave a little wave the fans giving him a standing ovation as he left. Jennings was taken to the hospital, where he was described as being alert, in stable condition and undergoing tests.
