Blues Brews & BBQ Artist Stesha Cano Honored

You may remember I95's Blues, Brews and BBQ in downtown Bangor in 2015 when singer song writer Stesha Cano and the jerks graced the stage and entertained our revelers.  She was a delight.

Hailing from right here in the Bangor area she is a rising star and now Stesha Cano has been nominated for this prestigious award to be presented at the New England Music Awards ceremony held at Blue Ocean Music Hall & Event Center in Salisbury Beach, MA on Saturday April 9, 2016, 7:30 to 10:00 PM.

Beyond our Blues Brews & BBQ in (August of 2015) Stesha has played for numerous non profit events, and many local festival events such as Wine on the Waterfront (June 19, 2015), The Bangor Pride Festival (June 27, 2015), the North Atlantic Blues Festival Pub Crawl ( July 11, 2015) and many more including the Lawn Party with Paul outdoor concert that opened for the July 13, 2014 James Taylor concert in Bangor. Stesha has been a staple in the Central and Coastal Maine music scene since 2005. With two full-length albums already released she is currently recording her third album scheduled for release at the end of 2016. While all of Stesha's recorded material is original, many of her fans have also enjoyed her unique interpretations of covers ranging in genre from Blue-Eyed Soul to Grunge Rock to Traditional Jazz. Her expansive style transcends a label creating an ever changing and exciting listening experience. Stesha's voice is full in tone and range and is often described as sultry and soulful. Her press release tells that Stesha grew up in the Bangor and Ellsworth, Maine areas and graduated from the University of Maine with a degree in Spanish. She studied in Spain during her senior year of college and has travelled extensively throughout Europe and Central America. She recently spent a winter living and performing in New Orleans all of which has added multicultural texture and dimension to her sound. Stesha is the only female performer residing in Maine that has been nominated for this or any other award by the New England Music Awards this year.
