The body of a missing lobsterman was recovered Tuesday afternoon off the coast of Jonesport.

According to the Maine Marine Patrol, the body of Scott Chandler, 51, of Jonesport was recovered just after 5:00 Tuesday evening by divers. They were part of a search near Doyle Island, west of Hopkins Pond in Jonesport, that was launched after commercial seaweed harvesters contacted them after seeing Chandler fall from his 20-foot lobster boat near the island at around 9:20 in the morning.

Participating in Tuesday's search were members of the Maine Marine Patrol, divers from the Maine State Police and Maine Warden Service, along with U.S. Coast Guard boats, a helicopter, and a plane.

Officials are now investigating to determine what caused Chandler to fall into the water.
