The body of a lost fisherman was recovered Sunday evening. Family members called in the Warden Service after the man didn't arrive at home, as planned.

Maine Warden Corporal John MacDonald said in a press release that Wardens were called to Bean Brook in Rainbow Township to search for Darren Clement, age 18 of Medford, Maine. Clement had been fishing with his uncle and cousin. The trio planned to fish independently and reunite at a later time. When Clement didn't arrive as anticipated, the family searched the stream on their own, and finally called for help.

The Warden Service responded with ground searchers, game wardens, aircraft, and a canine unit. Warden Paul Farrington and his canine found Clement's fishing creel along the shore at about 8:00 that evening. A short time later, his body was found submerged in the brook.

The case remains under investigation. Clement's body has been released to the Medical Examiner's office to determine cause of death.
