The City of Brewer has recently opened the new Waterfront Trail, and it looks beautiful! This creates a great opportunity for a short after dinner or weekend walk with a great view of the Penobscot!

The new Waterfront Trail follows the side of the Penobscot River and starts at the corner of the Joshua Chamberlain Bridge, right by Schooner's Restaurant. It then runs 1,917 feet, about 0.363 miles, to Hardy Street, Just past the Children's Garden.

The walk is paved, just like Bangor's and Bucksport's, and makes for easy walking for the entire family. Yeah, get the kids outdoors and away from the video games for a little exercise!

There is public parking at the corner of Wilson and North Main Streets, just across the street from Schooner's Restaurant. At the other end, at the end of Hardy Street, there is parking there as well.

Thanks to the folks in Brewer for a job well done!
