The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a pair of burglaries that took place at local businesses early Saturday morning.

Deputies responded around  2:30 a.m. to the Clifton Country Store in Clifton after the alarm at the business went off. Upon their arrival, deputies learned that forced entry was made and an undisclosed amount of money and merchandise were taken.

Deputies around 4 a.m. responded after the alarm at the Tradewinds in Eddington was triggered. Just like the burglary in Clifton, forced entry was made and an undisclosed amount of money and merchandise were taken.

The break-ins remain under investigation.
