Take a 'shuttle to the stars' Saturday night!

As part of the 6th Annual Acadia Night Sky Festival, you can take a free trip up Cadillac Mountain to do some star gazing. Volunteer astronomers and park rangers will be on hand to show you around the night sky. The event is from 8 to 10 PM.

Cadillac Mountain will be closed to all vehicles at 6:30PM, Saturday. The shuttle will help alleviate traffic congestion and prevent headlights from disrupting the dark conditions needed to see the stars. A shuttle will run continuously between Hulls Cove Visitor Center and Cadillac Mountain from 7:30PM to 10:30PM. The last shuttle will depart for the summit at 9:30PM.

You're encouraged to dress warm. If you bring a flashlight, use it sparingly to preserve night vision. If you can, bring a flashlight with a red beam or a flashlight covered with red cellophane. No pets are allowed.

Call 200-1536 to find out if the event has been cancelled due to weather. For a full schedule of activities apart of the Acadia Night Sky Festival, call 288-5103 or visit acadianightskyfestival.com.
