Hollis Man Shot and Killed During Standoff With Police

A man who was involved in a standoff this afternoon at his Hollis home has been shot and killed by police. Details are sketchy and the man’s name has not been released.

Eight Arrested Tuesday in Huge Hancock County Drug Bust

The State Police and Maine Drug Enforcement Agency announced today the arrest of  8 people in connection with a huge drug ring in Hancock County. The investigation started in May of 2011 when MDEA’s Down East Division began investigating a group thought to be selling a significant amount of Oxycodone in that area.

A 50-year-old man fights for his life after being stabbed multiple times and the man accused in the attack is charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault.

Orono police were called to a boarding house on Park Street yesterday afternoon to a report of a stabbing in progress.
