CC Draws #2 Position For Belmont Stakes

When they call the horses to the gate at the Belmont Stakes on Saturday, California Chrome will break from the #2 gate position in his quest to win racing’s Triple Crown.

A random drawing for gate positions was held in New York. California Chrome, the Derby and Preakness winner, is the 3-5 early favorite to win the Belmont.

Affirmed was the last horse to win the Triple Crown in 1978
