A Celebration of Life is planned Monday for Paul 'June Bug' Francis III on Indian Island.

The search for the missing 29-year-old captured the hearts of many, as friends, family, and people who never met June Bug watched the updates and hoped for some news. Many joined in a massive search after he was reported missing on December 3rd.

Paul was last seen leaving a party on Sanford Street at around 1:00 on the morning of December 2nd, after telling others at the gathering that he was headed home. Flyers were posted all over town as searchers combed every corner, alley, and park.

Finally, when hope of finding him alive began to wane, patrols were set up along the riverbank, keeping an eye on the water. And that's where Francis was finally found, in the Penobscot River in Bucksport.

Now, the community who supported the search, those who knew and loved June Bug, or folks who just want to offer their condolences to his loved ones, are invited to gather together to celebrate the life of a man whose life and death have touched so many.

The Celebration of Life will begin at 1:00 Monday afternoon at the Penobscot Nation Community Building on Indian Island. Following the gathering, there will be a committal at the Tribal Cemetery, and then a meal will be served at the Community Center.
