Is there anyone we are more attached to in life than Mom? Mother's Day is this Sunday and according to the Retail Federation Mother's Day ranks fourth on the holiday spending list behind Valentine's Day, Thanksgiving and the winter holidays. It accounts for roughly 6.5 percent of holiday spending overall and adds up to roughly $18.1 billion in total.

They went on to further say: shoppers plan to spend $225.87 on Mother's Day this year. That's down $30 from last year.   We'll spend $2.3 billion on flowers and $3.1 billion on jewelry this year.

Now I know that this put's Mother's Day at fourth but I still think she comes in first place since you most likely buy for her on Valentine's Day and she is most likely one of your central focuses on Christmas and Thanksgiving. Just sayin'. Go Mom!
