Chase Gets A New Bullet Proof Vest

Ellsworth PD photo

Chase, the Ellsworth Police Department’s four legged canine officer has just received a bullet and stab protective vest from a Massachusetts based non-profit, Vested Interest in K-9s Inc.  The non-profit has recently received a $15,000 grant from the PetCo Foundation to purchase the vests.

Chase is 2 and a half years old has been with the department now for a little over a year.  The vest that Chase will wear costs about $950 and has a five year warranty.

Chase is one of sixteen dogs in New England that has received the vest.  It’s nice to know that our K-9 law enforcer is now well protected!
