Looking for a fun and free thing to do with the kids next weekend in the Bangor area?

The Penobscot County Conservation Association invites all kids, ages toddler to 15-years-old, to get bundled up and learn how to ice fish in Brewer.

According their Facebook page, PCCA is a volunteer organization formed in 1928 to promote and preserve our sporting heritage and wildlife in Penobscot County, Maine.  The Club states it's mission as having a focus on teaching kids the outdoorsmen culture and exposing them to the traditions of hunting and fishing.

The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 18, on LeVasseur Pond. There will be pre-drilled holes in the pond as well as pre-placed ice fishing traps.

Luckily, if you are a parent that may not be prepared for an event like this, no worries!  Everything needed will be there including equipment, bait and experienced sportsmen and women.

Donations for the club will be happily accepted with a thank you and warm beverages and snacks!
