We received this from Ellsworth this afternoon:

The Boil Water Order placed on July 9, 2018 in the City of Ellsworth has been lifted as of 1:35pm today July 11, 2018. Please feel free to contact our office with any questions that you may have. Thank you for your assistance, it is greatly appreciated!

Thank You,  Kerri Taylor Utilities Coordinator

Residents in a certain area of the City have been directed to boil their water for a least five minutes before using it.

The Boil Water Order affects those living in the following areas: Mountain View Drive, Hillside Drive, Edaco Court, and Surry Road between Mountain View drive and Edaco Court only.

Once again, City residents living in the area listed above should boil their water for a least 5 minutes before drinking, cooking, making ice cubes, washing food, brushing teeth or any other use that involves it's consumption.

The reason for the Order is because of a water line break in the vicinity of Mount View Drive and the Surry Road. The City has said that the order will remain in effect until further notice, and updates will be given on the City Of Ellsworth's Facebook page.  Questions regarding the Order can be directed to Reggie Winslow at 667-8632, or to the State Of Maine Drinking Water Program at 287-2070 during regular business hours.
