He may have passed away back in 1914, but this local hero of the Civil War will be resurrected this Saturday night in Bangor.

Joshua Chamberlain, the Union Officer who eventually became Governor of Maine will make a appearance this Saturday night at the Issac Farrar Mansion between 7 and 9PM.  The event, hosted by the Bangor Historical Society and Rudman Winchell, is called "Cognac With Chamberlain", and will be hosted by the General himself along with his wife, Francis "Fanny" Adams Chamberlain.

This should prove to be very interesting for any historian of the Civil War, as the General himself will give brief remarks about his experiences at Little Round Top at Gettysburg before mingling with the guests!

All proceeds will benefit the wonderful Bangor Historical Society, where you can obtain tickets and more information.
