Oddly enough this nostalgic flavor that has nothing to do with Coke. The trip they are hoping the new option takes you on is a hot summer day as a kid sucking down creamy orange popsicles.  Yup in the coming weeks you’ll be able to sample orange vanilla coke.  Turns out they have been looking to add some new flavors for a while now and rolled out things like – raspberry, lemon and ginger. But according to the company’s press release the combination of orange and vanilla emerged as the clear favorite in focus groups.  They also gave the new flavor a test drive in Australia and Canada and claim it was a hit. This is the first new flavor released by Coke in more than 10 years.

In the coming weeks you’ll begin to see commercials for the new flavor. Also the new Orange Vanilla Coke and Orange Vanilla Coke Zero Sugar will be available in 12-oz. cans and 20-oz. PET bottles and exclusively at Wendy’s restaurants in Coca-Cola Freestyle fountain dispensers through the end of the NCAA March Madness basketball tournament before rolling out nationally across all Freestyle units.

Coke representatives say:

“Our brief for the campaign was to have fun with flavors. We think this work brings to life the Coca-Cola personality in a playful, unexpected way.”
