The Maine Department of Corrections is reporting the death of a prisoner. Edward C. Robinson, Jr. was serving two life sentences for the murders of two people in Bangor.

Robinson has been incarcerated since his conviction for the June 1988 deaths of Robert Blanchard and Patricia Maguire. The couple was shot to death at a trailer park on Finson Road in Bangor. Robinson was given two consecutive life sentences.

Scott Fish of the Maine Department of Corrections said in a press release that Robinson died just before midnight on Monday, December 22nd. He was 77 years old. Consistent with department policy and the Attorney General's protocols, the death is being reviewed by the State Police and the State Medical Examiner.
