Well now here's a puppy, but, without the puppy chaos that usually comes along with it!

Meet Cooper, and you'll be be captivated by his dark brown eyes, floppy ears, and long hound-like tail that wags and wags. This handsome hunk has had a rough first 14 months of life, but since he's been at the shelter he has settled into the routine and is turning out to be a great dog!

Cooper was a little apprehensive when he first came to the SPCA on the Bar Harbor Road in Ellsworth, when you'd reach out your hand he didn't know what to make of it - were you going to do something naughty or nice?  But now that he's settled in, he's relaxed and understands things much better!  He walks well on his harness, and responds nicely to treats.

Cooper loves to and play, and and is still working on how to play gently with humans.  He adores other dogs, and especially enjoys playing with other dogs who like to wrestle!  Cooper could wrestle all day long, yet you'll also see him lounging and relaxing in his kennel for large parts of the day, so we know that this sixty lbs. can remain calm.

Stop on by and introduce yourself to Cooper, or, one of the other animals available for adoption today!
