Last night at Fenway Park the first 15,000 fans to pass through the gates were to receive a bobblehead of their most beloved hero.  It didn't happen.

Red Sox President Sam Kennedy saw the delivered bobbleheads for the first time just hours before the game, and he decided to cancel their distribution to the fans.  He called them "racially insensitive", and went on to say that "it doesn't really look like David."

Here's what the Sox received.

According to an article in the Boston Globe, when Ortiz saw his bobblehead for the first time he responded with "unprintable language" and agreed with the team's decision to cancel the promotion.

The bobblehead was made to look like Ortiz during his famous speech at Fenway following the Boston Marathon bombings.

The Sox sent the unacceptable bobbleheads back to the manufacturer and will receive a new batch. It's going to cost the organization some bucks as Kennedy has promised to mail a corrected David Ortiz bobblehead to all of the 15,000 fans at last night's game.
