A new 'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' TV spot aired during the 'Walking Dead' season finale and if you missed it, a) it was awesome, and b) we have it for you right here in HD.

Pairing up 'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' with 'The Walking Dead' was pretty smart as tonally it felt very similar to AMC's hit zombie series. While the entirety of the clip is narrated by a human - talking about how the advantage the apes have is that they're not dependent on heat, lights or power - we don't see a single human in the footage. And, that's just the way we want it as there's enough monkey business going on here to satisfy us.

There's one particularly impressive shot of doors opening and revealing an expansive ape army, all on horses and all carrying weapons. Later in the clip, we see one of the apes (is it Koba from the first film?), charging ahead on a horse with a gun in his head. The chickens, er, apes, are coming home to roost y'all.

'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' stars Jason Clarke, Gary Oldman, Keri Russell, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Judi Greer and Andy Serkis, who returns as Caesar. According to the official synopsis, the film goes like this:

A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.

'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' opens in theaters on July 11, 2014.

UPDATE: We've included the brand new 'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' poster below, including our first look at Caesar's new baby.
