This winter has been especially harsh on all of us, including Maine's wildlife.

As I look out over the frozen tundra, one can't help but wonder the effect that the weather is having on the animals.  They have to be having a hard time finding food in these conditions. Just imagine digging through two feet of snow.

In this video shot this past Saturday by Dan Daley of Eastport, it's very evident as a hungry herd of deer rummage in the roadway looking for just about anything to eat.

On the way out the door this morning I noticed the crows sitting up in the trees, so I went back inside and got some old bread and pieces of chicken.  I left it in a mound in the back yard.
