Sarah is the daughter of Doug Wilson and Jennifer Morrow, both of Deer Isle. She is an outstanding student, citizen, and leader. In addition to her academic achievements, Sarah is a National Honor Society member, president of the Student Council and the student body representative to the school board. She serves on the Ready by 21 Steering Committee, Island Education Foundation Board, Friends of the Reach Board, Christian Education Committee, and Opera House Arts Community Advisory Board. Sarah plays varsity tennis, dances at Sue’s School of Dance, and is a member of the 2013 Class D State Championship Cheering team. She is a house manager and box office assistant at Opera House Arts, teaches Sunday School at the Deer Isle Congregational Church and enjoys being involved with the theater. Recently Sarah acted in and choreographed dances for the Cabin Fever production of Hello Dolly!

Sam Grindle is the son of Peter and Suzette Grindle of Deer Isle. Along with his career of academic excellence, Sam has enjoyed success in a variety of co-curricular activities. He is the 2012 State of Maine Class C Individual Golf Champion, earning overall medalist with the lowest score of any competitor in any class. He has earned many accolades in his four years on the varsity basketball team including a place on the coveted McDonald’s Senior All-Star team, the PVC All-Academic team and the PVC All-Conference team. He has also earned PVC honors in varsity baseball and golf and has been a valuable member of the math team. Sam has been a part of many championship chess teams throughout his school career and has competed in national tournaments on several occasions. Sam was recently awarded the MPA’s Principal’s Award for Deer Isle-Stonington High School.
