Belly up to some great food and help the furry friends that are waiting for a forever home at the SPCA of Hancock County!

The Salt Box Restaurant on Route 1 in Hancock is hosting a four-course dinner on Wednesday, March 16th, to benefit the SPCA of Hancock County, a no-kill facility that hosts dogs and cats that are waiting to be adopted.

According to a SPCA press release, Salt Box owner Michael Poirier has two adopted animals from the SPCA and wanted to help out the animals left behind.  "I've had my adopted dog for about a decade now, and recently took in a cat as well,” Poirier said. “There's no more room in my house, but we wanted to do something to help out everyone still waiting for a forever home." Poirier's dog Willey sometimes greets customers at the front door of the restaurant.

You can choose between wild salmon and wild mushroom ravioli. The dinner also includes oysters, salad, rolls, and a choice of dessert, all for $40 per person.  There will be two seatings, one at 5 and another at 7 p.m.  Reserve your space now by calling 422-9900!

“The SPCA is so happy to partner with Mike on this event.  Our non-profit shelter receives no state or local funding.  This support from the Salt Box really means a lot and can really make a difference” said Jamie O’Keefe, president of the SPCA Board. “We hope people will come enjoy an amazing meal while helping the animals at the same time.”
