My brother and sister in-law were out on Mother's day working in my mom's garden and they said the black flies were already out in full force. That means the mosquitoes won't be far behind.

Several years ago my brother invested in what the manufacturer calls a bug vacuum which uses a propane tank to make Co2 (like we do) and a sticky paper to catch the little blood suckers and combat the bugs they have out there in the country in Brewer. I can tell you from my visits, that thing really works!

This DIY Mosquito trap works much the same using a little yeast to make the Co2 to attract the mosquitoes and then sugar water to catch them.  Much cheaper than the high tech model and lasts about two weeks, or so I hear.

The important thing I have been told is you need to start early in the season to catch the breeders.  Makes sense, good luck.
