Hey, it was on this day that Richard Starkey officially joined the band! The year was 1962, and a couple of days prior to the gig at the ever popular Horticultural Society Dance, Birkenhead, England, Ringo Starr had accepted John Lennon's invitation to join the Beatles.  Little did he know what would await him in the future!  Yup, he'd get to sing all of the corny songs (stuff like Yellow Submarine and Octopus' Garden) and also play the doofus in the band's movies. But, the career move was a good one.  Ringo would eventually marry a Bond girl and continue to make good money by touring with his All-Star Band!

It was on this date in 1977 that The Police made their live debut!  The threesome of Sting, Andy Summers and Stewart Copeland set up shop at Rebecca's Nightclub in Birmingham, England. New Wave music suddenly got a massive kick in the ass.

Now here's a concert line-up for you!  AC/DC, The Who, Nils Lofgren, and The Stranglers blew the roof off of Wembley Stadium on this night in 1979.  One can only imagine the rock and roll utopia of seeing AC/DC and The Who together in one nigh, there must have been a collection box at the door for fans to drop off their soiled pants.

The city of Liverpool, England, named four streets after the Beatles.  John Lennon Drive, Paul McCartney Way, George Harrison Close and Ringo Starr Drive.  Former drummer Pete Best to this day refuses to clean up after his dog on any those streets.

New Jersey rockers Bon Jovi released their third album which went on to sell 28 million copies.  Slippery When Wet featured You Give Love A Bad Name and Living On A Prayer. Hitting the record store shelves on this date in 1986 the album went to #1 and increased sales of hair spray drastically when men figured out that they could use it for something other than a blow torch.  By the way, Bon Jovi is today's I-95 Artist of the Day!
