So there you are, a teenage girl, and you absolutely LOVE THE MONKEES!  So what do you do?  You sneak on board their plane and stowaway!

That's exactly what a 16 year-old girl did in 1967 in Minneapolis.  When the plane landed in St Louis the girl's father was so mad that he threatened to sue.  Nine months later the girl gave birth to a very small baby boy who could sing Daydream Believer really well.  Just kidding.

In 1975, Zeppelin singer Robert Plant and his wife were injured when limo driver spun the big car out and crashed into a tree.  The accident happened on the Greek island of Rhodes, a place that neither you or I can afford to visit.  Plant broke his elbow and ankle in the crash and Led Zeppelin had to cancel their North American tour.  Thousands of Zeppelin fans from New York to San Francisco all swore at the same time, a variety of sounds that closely resembled the noise of the refrain in Whole Lotta Love.

On this date in 1980, John and Yoko Lennon began recording Double Fantasy in New York, which would unfortunately be the former Beatle's final album.  Lennon was shot and killed four months later while walking with Yoko in front of their apartment building in New York.  A very sad period in rock history.  John Lennon is the I-95 Artist of the Day!

Around this date in 1984, I became a Prince fan.  Purple Rain, the movie soundtrack, started a 24 week run at the top of the album chart.  It featured great songs like When Doves Cry and of course Let's Go Crazy.  The mixture of rock, funk and the Hendrix like guitar just killed me.  Truly a work of art.  I'd include a video, but it looks like the Purple One has a hair across his skinny ass and has taken down all of his videos from You Tube.  So, hum the movie's title track to yourself.
