On this date in 1974, a rocker in a boogie band from Boston married a starlet!

Peter Wolfe met actress Faye Dunaway at the end of the aisle and both said "I do."  The J. Geils band were enjoying the success of their Bloodshot and Nightmares albums at the time. Meanwhile, Dunaway had already starred in Bonnie & Clyde and had a couple of  movies on the big screen that year in Chinatown and The Towering Inferno.  Unfortunately, the two would divorce in 1979.

The J. Geils Band are the I-95 Artist of the Day!

Fleetwood Mac's album Mirage hit #1 on this date in 1982 and would stay there for five weeks.  It included the songs Hold Me and Gypsy.  As the band go along better they began to produce a somewhat soft rock sound, and Mirage didn't fare as well as their self-titled album or Rumors, proving once again that turmoil within a band creates great music.  By the way, could Stevie Nicks be anymore beautiful than in the video below?  I think not.

On this date in 2008, the most expensive piece of Elvis Presley memorabilia sold at auction for $300,000.  It was his rhinestone and gold lame peacock jumpsuit that he had worn onstage so many times.  The jumpsuit was so dirty that it stood up on its own.  Just kidding.  But, it did still show the King's sweat stains in it's arm pit areas! The auction house describe it as having "minor staining and browning"   No word on who's wearing it now, although we're willing to bet it's been used during drunken sex at least once.
