He wore a purple hat and performed with his four brothers for the first time on the Ed Sullivan Show.  It was this night in 1969.

It was the first network television appearance for the Jackson Five, and it certainly wouldn't be the last.

Born To Boogie, a film directed by Ringo Starr and starring Marc Bolan of T. Rex made its premiered on this date in 1972.  The film was based around a concert that happened at the Wembley Empire Pool in London.  When it came time to record a promo for the film Ringo and Marc decided to smoke a whole bunch of weed before the shooting, the results are below.  Don't worry if you missed the film, everyone else did too.

John Lennon had been shot to death just days earlier, and it was on this date in 1980 that Yoko Ono asked fans to observe ten minutes of silence to honor her late husband.  Radio stations went silent and so did the world as over 100,000 people gathered in New York's Central Park.

It was on this date in 1998 that Billy Preston was sentenced to one year in jail to run concurrently to a sentence that he was already service for cocaine possession.  Seems that Billy and his friends had been rigging car crashes to defraud insurance companies.  I'm sure that he didn't learn this stuff from playing with the Beatles.

Vanessa Hudgens is celebrating a birthday today, the movie and Broadway actress is now 27 whole years old, and once again, we'll use any excuse to post a video of a very attractive woman!
