The song was produced by the same guy that had produced School's Out by Alice Cooper.  He had used school kids as a chorus on that record, so why not again?

Another Brick In The Wall (Part 2) by Pink Floyd hit #1 on this date in 1980.

The song would be nominated for a Grammy Award, but would eventually lose out to Bob Seger's Against The Wind.

On this date in 1984 Do They Know It's Christmas entered the charts at #1.  The song recorded by mostly British music types would collect over $13.6 million for the famine relief effort in Ethiopia. It was also one of the final times that we would ever see Boy George on video, which is always a good thing.

On this date in 1990, James Brown, the Godfather of Soul, was sentenced to six years in prison for possession of weapons and resisting arrest. Seems in 1988 "The hardest working man in show business" entered an insurance seminar in Augusta, Georgia, armed with a shotgun and a pistol, and ordered everyone to leave. He then took off in his pickup truck and attempted to outrun police, which is never good.  Brown’s wife, Adrienne, said that he was on medication for jaw surgery and was “not in his right mind.”  James didn't feel good that day.

Rod Stewart married New Zealand model Rachel Hunter on this day in 1990.  Hey, who wouldn't?  The two would split after nine years of marriage, with Rachel eventually telling the papers that Rod was too young for him, even though he was 24 years older.

Beware of those mirror balls!  It was this date in 1999 that Boy George was knocked out when a mirror ball fell on his head while performing live in England.  Now do you think that someone was trying to tell him something?  Like, get off the stage!

In 2001, Joe Walsh was given an honorary Doctorate of Music from Kent State University in Ohio.  At this point in his life this wonderful musician should be given anything and everything!

In 1983,  the co-founder of Atlantic Records Ahmet Ertegun, died.  The man signed the Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin to recording contracts long before they were ever famous.  Ertegun actually fell and hit his head during a Stones concert and then slipped into a coma before he died.  It's only rock n' roll.

Max Yasgur, the owner of the 600 acre farm in Bethel, New York, where Woodstock was held was born on this date in 1919.  He would die almost four years after Woodstock, you would have thought it would have happened sooner.

Alan Freed, the New York disc jockey who gave rock n' roll it's name was born on this date in 1922.  Freed would quickly discover and pretty much give payola it's name too.  He would die in January of 1965.
