On this day in 1974, Mick announced that he was leaving the Rolling Stones!  No, not the Mick that you're probably thinking of.

Mick Taylor said that "now was the time to do something new."  What that was no one has ever really figured out, but it's only rock n' roll, and we friggin' LOVE it!  Mick played with the Stones from 1969 until 1974, and was probably the best guitarist that the band ever had.

In 1988 Billy Joel hit #1 with his album Storm Front and it also contained three #1 songs including We Didn't Start the Fire, a song that cannot be mimicked word for word while one is drunk.  Don't think so?  Then give it a try.

With stories beginning to surface about Michael Jackson and alleged improprieties with young children, KEZK, a St. Louis radio station announced that it would no longer play the singer's music.  However, the station would continue to air Gary Glitter, and songs produced by Phil Spector.

On this date back in 2007, Dan Fogelberg died at his home in Deer Isle after a three year fight with prostate cancer.  Fogelberg had huge hits with songs like, Leader Of The Band and Hard To Say.  His album The Innocent Age was a best-seller in our area because of the song The Reach, which spoke of fishermen working the waters off Deer Isle, where his ashes were spread.  Fogelberg was 56.

Born on this date in 1950 was Billy Gibbons, the fabulous guitarist with ZZ Top!  Billy was a lot less hairy when his mama gave birth.  Billy is also the proud owner of the 1933 Ford Coupe that's featured in all of those great ZZ Top videos!
