Jagger and Richards were set up, Lennon played live on the tube, Sting announced that the band was getting back together, and Ziggy received a star!

It was this night in 1967 that the Rolling Stones were made an example of.

A party was being held at the home of Keith Richards in Sussex, England, and all sorts of notables were there including Mick Jagger, George Harrison and his wife Patti.  Also there was a guy supplying the LSD and pot.

As the legend goes, the cops waited for Harrison and his wife to leave the party, because Harrison was the "holder" of an MBE, which made him a member of British royalty.  After his departure the police raided the party, and Jagger and Richards were busted.

Jagger and Richards were both sentenced to jail time, but they only spent two days in jail because there sentences were thrown out on appeal.

Nobody ever saw the guy who supplied the dope ever again.

This day in 1970 saw John Lennon perform Instant Karma on the BBC's Top Of The Pops TV show.  Lennon had written and recorded the song in just one day.  Yoko, being the strange woman that she is, sat onstage blindfolded and holding up various signs.

What a GREAT triple bill, just imagine seeing this one!  On this night in 1977, Blondie, The Ramones and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers all performed at the Whisky a Go Go in Los Angeles, California. Damn, I wish that I was there!

It was this date in 1995 that Van Halen released Balance, their tenth studio album.  It was recorded over a three week period that say Eddie and Alex Van Halen warring with Sammy Hagar.  The album would sell 3 million copies, which is quite remarkable because it really did suck. We can't even find a suitable video to post!

On this day in 1977 David Bowie got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame!  We're still struggling with his loss. Bowie is the I-95 Artist of the Day!

This day in 2007 Sting announced that he was getting the band back together!  It was at a press conference at the Whisky a Go Go club in West Hollywood that he announced The Police would begin a tour in Vancouver. The band had not been on the road together for over twenty years.
